Hackathons

Hackathons are designed sprint-like event; in which computer programmers and others involved in software development, including graphic designers, interface designers, project managers, domain experts, and others collaborate intensively on software projects. A hackathon can be used to solve challenging problems from a social, economic, technological or even environmental standpoint.

The goal of hackathon is to create a functioning software prototype by the end of the event. Hackathons tend to have a specific focus which can aid in the development of Guyana. This project will see the development of new software to be used in the different sectors which will enable effective and efficient processing of information; gathering, dissemination, distribution and storage of information. The primary beneficiaries of this project are the government and the citizens of Guyana. Secondary beneficiaries will accrue to businesses and entrepreneurs who are able to capitalize on the efficiency and effectiveness of the government systems. This project will definitely seek to speed up the processing of information for all government agencies, businesses and citizens.
