Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d), the Honourable Mark Phillips met with Secretary-General of the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), Mr Rodney Taylor, this afternoon, at the Office of the Prime Minister on Camp Street.
Prime Minister Phillips, who holds responsibility for the nation’s Telecommunications Sector, was accompanied by the Director of the Industry and Innovation Unit within the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Shahrukh Hussain and the Director of the Telecommunications Agency, Mr Andre Griffith.
Discussions focused on the 20th Caribbean Internet Governance Forum (CIGF), currently being held in Guyana.
The officials also spoke about the possibility of CTU utilising its resources and expertise to support Guyana’s national agenda and various areas surrounding telecommunications regulations and related matters.
CTU is an intergovernmental organisation dedicated to facilitating the development of the regional telecommunications sector.
