The Train-the-Trainer ICT training programme which falls under the purview of the Office of the Prime Minister’s (OPM) Industry and Innovations Unit is being rolled out in Region One (Barima-Waini).
The Train-the-Trainer ICT training programme which falls under the purview of the Office of the Prime Minister’s (OPM) Industry and Innovations Unit is being rolled out in Region One (Barima-Waini).
This aligns with government’s vision to expand the reach of ICT countrywide.
Some 40 persons residing in the region who are already enrolled in the programme are set to benefit from several ICT skills training areas.
Speaking with the Department of Public Information (DPI), Web Services Coordinator, Mark Mahabir noted that persons from various communities were selected to attend the training programme.
Upon completion of the training, the participants from the various communities can return to their communities to teach the other persons.
The programme will focus on various ICT skillsets which include cyber security, hardware and software, internet computing, web development, and teaching methodology.
The programme commences today and will end on Friday, March 17, 2023.
The training will be conducted at the Mabaruma Regional Boardroom.
